The Dachshund is the classic Wiener Dog. Raised to fight beavers in Germany, their unique and distinctive shape has become very popular in modern times. They make a good dog for families and are relatively easy to train, but a potential owner needs to be cautious that the Dachshund doesnt fall into the Small Dog Syndrome trap, where the owners treat the little Dachshund like a baby and thus cause it to develop psychological issues.
