Komondor: Index

The Komondor is the dog that looks like a mop. It is the Hungarian Sheepdog and has been serving this duty for over 1000 years. Raised to protect both the sheep and the other smaller sheepdogs in southern Russia, the Komondor has learned to be self-reliant and fiercely independent, thereby making them a less desirable family dog. This independence also makes the Komondor difficult to train and this should be left to a very skilled professional. The Komondor can get along with children, but this independence streak needs to be broken at a very young age.
