Whippet: Index
The Whippet is a smaller cousin of the standard English Greyhound and like its brethren, the Whippet loves to race. It has a slower top speed than the Greyhound, but a much faster acceleration, and for its size, it is the fastest medium-sized dog available. When the Greyhound was used in races for the upper classes, the Whippet was used for the commoners and it obtained the moniker "poor-man's racehorse". The Whippet is a great family dog and is very quiet and docile compared to what a first-impression might lead you to believe.
